Street Food at the EmQuartier: Heaven for a Street Food Lover

In 2016, CNN has given Bangkok the city of the most delicious street food in the world. It is not a surprise because no matter where you go in Bangkok, you will see the wheel street food shop on the walking street. But sometimes, the sunny weather is not good for a long period of waiting for food on the street, not to mention the quality of food. So, the EmQuatier has finely selected famous street food just for every tourist to try without waiting in line.

“Vorapa” Fried Pork is famous for its delicious fried pork which can be eaten deliciously either with steamy rice or with sticky rice. Vorapa also has many interesting menus that would like to try once, such as fried shredded pork, pork jerky, chicken marinade, deep fried “Salid” fish from Bangbor, and striped snake-head fish to enjoy at the restaurant or to take away for your loved ones at home.

The second restaurant is Yaki Yaki. It is the Japanese BBQ restaurant which serves various dishes, such as grilled juicy pork, grilled chicken with BBQ sauce, sausage, and fish tofu. You can say that anything that can be stick and grilled is available here.

The third one is a dessert shop. For those who like fried banana and fried yam, you would love a famous restaurant “Billion Fried Banana”. There are many menus for you to choose including fried bananas, fried taro, fried yam, and fried pumpkin. If you come by the store, you will find a dazzling fried food in front of you and we bet you cannot pick what to eat.

Raja Steamed Bun is a restaurant operated for more than 30 years. There are seven fillings of white and soft steamed buns waiting for you on the steamy container. There are also pork dumpling, shrimp dumpling, Ha Gow, and sticky rice dumpling. The atmosphere of the Raja Steamed Bun is like walking in the Chinatown.

Follow with Gu-Chai-Khun-Mae, the famous chive dumpling of the Tiger God shrine neighborhood. But this time, you do not have to drive to the shrine to have this soft dumpling. This restaurant has chive, yam, and taro dumplings. For those who want to try all fillings, it can be ordered in one box as well.

Kanom Buang Khun Dao is an authentic Thai crispy pancake shop that you cannot walk away from its smell. The shop owner fully puts the filling inside making the filling gash out of the pancake. The fillings are available in sweet and salty. Do not miss it!

Moving on to the drink section, we love to introduce you “Ta-Tum Grass Jelly”. The shop brings soft and chewy grass jelly made by its secret recipe to the EmQuartier. Moreover, there are many creative menus of grass jelly, such as the grass jelly juice, which you can select a level of sweetness, the grass jelly with milk, the grass jelly with banana milk, and the grass jelly with soybean and charcoal. All recipes are going perfectly with the soft grass jelly.

The last shop we would like to introduce is the “Charcoal Soymilk”. If you think it is just an ordinary soymilk café, then think again because this is a well-known soymilk shop from Ubon Ratchathani. It provides many menus like a plain soymilk, a brown sugar soymilk,  a taro soymilk, and a coconut soymilk. Adding some add-ons will make it more delicious in the way you prefer.

Street food at the EmQuatier is not only full of food and desserts, but it is also full of well-selected quality. Each store has carefully picked good materials and delicately cooked as the same recipe as the original branch. Plus, it is more convenient because they are all available in one place, the EmQuatier. A street food lovers should not miss.
